Teacher Spotlight

Hi, my name is Buffy Blunck.  I am in my 17th year of teaching.  Prior to coming here to RHS, I taught biology, health science, anatomy and was an advisor for student government and HOSA at Jordan High and Brighton High.  Currently, I am the Work-Based Learning Specialist and Internship Coordinator here at Riverton High School.  I love my new job and am happy to wear my favorite color, purple, even more often.
I am thrilled to be working here in the community where I live.  I am married with two children, Izzy and Zeb.  Zeb is now an official Silver Pup here at RHS and Izzy is at Southland Elementary.

I am obsessed with sharks, Shark Week, the ocean, swimming anywhere I can, scuba diving and playing outside in the sun with my kids.  I am a very social, outgoing person and love getting to know people.  Traveling has always been my passion.  I have backpacked throughout Europe, studied abroad at Cambridge University and I was able to pet a Galapagos shark while cage diving in Hawaii.  My ultimate goal is to go to Australia and cage dive with great white sharks.  It’s no wonder that sushi is my favorite food.
