Cross Country


 Congratulations to Chase Englestead and our Cross Country Team who participated at State on October 18th. Our boy's team took 3rd place. Two of our students, Blake Lewis and Sean Rausch were highlighted on the news. Click on link below to read about their inspiring story.

ZERO FATALITIES PARENT NIGHT FOR 3RD & 4TH QUARTER DRIVER ED PARENTS


Monday, March 19th in the R.H.S. Auditorium from 7:00 – 8:15 p.m. At least one parent or guardian is required to attend. Students are encouraged to attend with their parent/guardian(s) and will receive generous extra credit. This informative, professional presentation is a suitable for all ages and families or friends are encouraged to attend.

ATTENTION 3rd and 4th Quarter Driver Education students and parents

Students are required to have a valid LEARNER PERMIT from the Utah Driver License Division BEFORE the first day of class (driverlicense.utah.gov). You must score a minimum of 80% on the Utah Driver Handbook examination to apply for a Utah learner permit. Coach Galley has Utah Driver Handbooks available free of charge in his classroom and he also offers the test and help free of charge in Room 2626 before school (Mondays & Tuesdays) at 7:00 a.m. for R.H.S. Dr. Ed. students. You may also go directly to the D.L. D. to take the test. THE IDEAL TIME TO GET A LEARNER PERMIT IS BETWEEN 15 YEARS & 3-6 MONTHS OF AGE.

RHS Performing Arts - Music Awards

Awards: 
Varsity Jazz Ensemble earned straight superior ratings at Region IV Jazz and qualified for State!

Percussion Ensembles 1, 2 AND 3 earned superior ratings at 
the Region IV Solo and Ensemble festival and qualified for state!

Natalie Baldwin and Grayden Larsen earned 2nd place in the Chamber Category at the Percussive Arts Society Utah Day of Percussion!

Wind Symphony earned straight superior ratings at the Region IV Band Festival and qualified for state!

Winter Colorguard earned their 2nd state title in 3 years, way to go!

Philharmonic earned 2nd place and a Gold rating at the Western Region Heritage Festival in Anaheim

Drama Events




Riverton High FCCLA had a great turnout and a lot of fun at state star event competitions the last week of March. Emma Angel placed first in Chapter in Review! Both Madison Winterbottom and Aimee Scott competed in Career Investigation, and got silver. Tanner Summens placed bronze in Focus on Children. Our awesome Parliamentary Procedure team, Shelby Wickham, Aspen Stevensen, Ashlin Lee, Megan and Madison Sansom placed first in state! Victoria Steeneck got gold in Entrepreneurship. Ethan Andrews placed silver in Applied Math for Culinary Management. We have 8 qualifying and 7 attending nationals in Nashville, Tennessee this July! FCCLA Members make sure to attend our closing social on May 11, 2017 in the Media Center after school for an awards program and celebration!

Riverton High Arts Department Presents

FCCLA


Second quarter was a busy one for FCCLA! In November, we spent time getting ready to participate in the Festival of Trees.   We were then able to take a field trip to enjoy the members hard work in this service learning project!  Megan and Madison Sansom, both Utah State Officers have put in lots of hard work getting ready for the Region Conference.  It will be held February 8th at BYU.  Riverton FCCLA is excited they will have 18 students who will participate in STAR events.  We also would like to recognize the 26 students who have started and are currently working to complete Power of One, where students set goals in 5 area of their life they wish to improve.
